Wooden Dry Fruit Box with Glass Lid — 4 Compartments: A round sheesham box with four compartments under a glass lid. Made by hand from sheesham (rosewood) and glass and brass and inlaid with brass, in the Sillanwali Handicrafts workshop in Sillanwali, Sargodha, Punjab, Pakistan. It measures about 10 in across. It costs PKR 2,250. It is ready to ship and delivered within 3 to 4 days anywhere in Pakistan, paid in cash on delivery.

A round box turned from sheesham and divided inside into four equal compartments, with a glass lid in a turned wooden rim and a brass knob to lift it. Small brass pins are set into the rim around the lid, so the edge catches the light when the box sits on a table. The body and the lid rim are each turned on the khraad from solid wood, and the dividers are cut and fitted inside rather than moulded in, which is why the four compartments sit a little differently from one box to the next. The glass drops into a rebate cut in the lid, so it sits flush instead of standing proud. It is the box that comes out when people arrive: almonds, pistachios, kishmish and chhuhara in the four compartments, or sweets and chocolates at Eid. The glass lid means guests can see what is in it before it is opened, and the lid keeps everything fresh between visits. Made in Sillanwali, Sargodha, and turned individually, so grain and colour vary between boxes. Wipe the wood with a dry cloth and the glass with a damp one, keep the box out of standing water, and do not put it in a dishwasher or a microwave.

Every piece is made by hand, so the wood grain, carving and colour vary a little from the photo. That variation is normal and is what makes each one its own.
