Dry Fruit Basket — four compartments under an arched handle. Made by hand from sheesham (rosewood) and plainly polished, in the Sillanwali Handicrafts workshop in Sillanwali, Sargodha, Punjab, Pakistan. It costs PKR 2,150. It is ready to ship and delivered within 3 to 4 days anywhere in Pakistan, paid in cash on delivery.
A round serving basket divided into four deep heart-shaped wells, carried by a tall handle that arches clear over the top so the whole thing lifts in one hand. It is turned from solid sheesham and the wells are cut with concentric ridges running round inside each one — which is not decoration alone. Dried fruit, nuts, chocolates and sweets sit in their own compartment and stay apart instead of migrating into one mixed heap by the end of an evening. The tray lifts off its turned base so both can be wiped down properly, and the rim is scalloped rather than cut flat. The natural polish leaves the grain showing rather than covering it over. It comes out at Eid, on a chai trolley, and on the table through Ramadan evenings, and it is the piece that saves passing four small bowls around a room. Made to order in Sillanwali, Sargodha, and turned individually, so grain and colour tone vary between baskets. Wash by hand in warm water and dry it straight away rather than leaving it to soak, and rub in a little food-safe oil now and then to keep the wood from drying out. Never put it in a dishwasher. A name or a date can be engraved on the base.
Every piece is made by hand, so the wood grain, carving and colour vary a little from the photo. That variation is normal and is what makes each one its own.

Care
- Wipe clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not soak, do not put in a dishwasher, and do not leave standing in water.
- Keep the piece out of direct sunlight and standing heat so the wood does not dry or fade.
- A light food-safe mineral oil once or twice a year keeps plain serving pieces from drying out.
- Small variations in grain, carving depth and colour are normal — each piece is finished by hand in Sillanwali.
