Carved Wooden Plate Set of 3 — Premium: three sheesham plates with hand-carved floral rims. Made by hand from sheesham (rosewood) and carved by hand, in the Sillanwali Handicrafts workshop in Sillanwali, Sargodha, Punjab, Pakistan. It measures about 8, 10 and 12 in across (set of three). It costs PKR 5,200 for the whole set. It is ready to ship and delivered within 3 to 4 days anywhere in Pakistan, paid in cash on delivery.

Three plates turned from solid sheesham in graduated sizes, each with a wide rim carved all the way round in a running floral pattern and a smooth polished well in the middle. The carving stops where the food starts, which is exactly where it should: the rim carries the work and the centre stays flat and easy to wipe. Each rim is cut freehand with chisel and gouge, so the depth changes as the carver works round the circle and the pattern never repeats exactly — on one plate or across the three. They are left in a natural polish with no stain over them, so the grain runs under the carving and shows through it. They stack inside one another, so the set stores in the space of the largest plate. The big one takes fruit or dry fruit at the table, the middle one sweets or a side dish, the smallest chutney, dates or a single serving — or stand one on a rack as a piece of décor. Made in Sillanwali, Sargodha, and carved individually. Wipe with a damp cloth and dry straight away, keep them out of standing water, and rub in a little food-safe oil now and then. Not for the dishwasher, the microwave or the oven.

Every piece is made by hand, so the wood grain, carving and colour vary a little from the photo. That variation is normal and is what makes each one its own.
