How to look after a wooden foot roller: cleaning, drying and storage
A short care guide for a hand-turned wooden foot roller: what to wipe it with, what to keep off the wood, and where to keep it at home.
Look after a wooden foot roller by wiping it with a dry cloth, keeping water, polish sprays and chemical cleaners off the wood, and storing it away from standing heat and damp. It has no battery, charger or motor to maintain, only a little regular care to keep the surface in good shape.
What is the roller made of, and why does that matter for care?
Ours is a manual roller: two rows of ridged wooden rollers set in a low frame, turned by hand in Sillanwali, Sargodha. It measures roughly 28 to 33 cm long, 18 to 20 cm wide and 5 to 6.5 cm high (about 11 to 13 by 7 to 8 by 2 to 2.5 inches), and the size varies a little because each piece is turned individually.
Because it is solid wood, it reacts to water and heat the way any wooden object does. That is why the care rules are short, and why they are worth following.
How do you use it?
Sit on a chair, place your bare feet on the rollers and roll them back and forth at whatever pressure feels comfortable. It is a comfort and relaxation product, a simple thing to keep under a desk or beside a chair, and it is not a medical device.
How should you clean it?
Wipe it over with a dry, soft cloth after use. If a mark needs more than that, message us before reaching for a wet cloth, because water soaks into wood and can lift a finish or swell the grain over time. Where should you keep it?
Keep it somewhere dry and at an even temperature, such as under a desk, beside a chair or on a low shelf. Our care guide for lacquered wood suggests keeping wooden pieces at least a metre from a radiator and off a windowsill that gets direct sun, and the same sensible rule applies here. It is light enough to move from room to room with one hand, so it is easy to tuck away.
Should you oil or wax it?
We have not tested oils or waxes on this particular finish, so we do not recommend them. A chopping board needs food-safe oil, as our oiling guide explains, but a roller is a different object with a different finish. If the surface starts to look dry or rough, message us on WhatsApp and we will advise.

What changes over time, and is it normal?
Grain and colour vary from piece to piece, and a natural material may show light wear with use. That is normal. If a roller arrives cracked or damaged, record an unboxing video as you open the parcel and message us within 7 days of delivery with your order ID, the video and photos, and we will repair, replace or refund it.
