Wooden Bangle Stand — Six Arms: A turned stand with six arms for bangles and bracelets. Made by hand from sheesham (rosewood) and plainly polished, in the Sillanwali Handicrafts workshop in Sillanwali, Sargodha, Punjab, Pakistan. It measures about 10 in tall. It costs PKR 2,450. It is ready to ship and delivered within 3 to 4 days anywhere in Pakistan, paid in cash on delivery.

A bangle stand turned from sheesham: a heavy round base, a shaped centre post, and six turned arms radiating from it so bangles can be sorted by set or by colour instead of being piled in a box. Each arm is beaded along its length, which keeps a stack from sliding straight off. The base, the post and every arm are turned separately on the khraad and fitted together by hand, which is why the beading falls a little differently on each arm. The weight is deliberately in the base: a bangle stand that tips when the last set is lifted off is no use on a dressing table. It holds glass churiyan, gold and silver bangles, watches and thin bracelets, and it keeps a bridal set in order in the weeks around a wedding. On a dressing table it does the job a jewellery box cannot — everything visible, nothing scratched against anything else. Made in Sillanwali, Sargodha, and turned individually, so grain and colour vary between stands. Dust with a soft dry cloth, and lift bangles on and off rather than forcing them over the beading.

Every piece is made by hand, so the wood grain, carving and colour vary a little from the photo. That variation is normal and is what makes each one its own.
