Carved Side Table — round table carved top to base. Made by hand from sheesham (rosewood) and carved by hand, in the Sillanwali Handicrafts workshop in Sillanwali, Sargodha, Punjab, Pakistan. It measures 24 in across. It costs PKR 75,00. It is ready to ship and delivered within 3 to 4 days anywhere in Pakistan, paid in cash on delivery.

A twenty-four inch round side table with the top and the pedestal carved by hand in a dense floral pattern, cut from solid sheesham throughout. There is no veneer and no board in it, which is why it is heavy and why it stays where you put it rather than sliding when someone leans on it. The pedestal is turned on the khraad first and then carved on the standing wood; the top is carved separately and the two are joined. The pattern is cut freehand — the carver works from the centre outward by eye — so the density shifts a little across the surface and the piece never has the flat regularity of a machine-pressed panel. That handwork is why it takes about sixteen working days rather than three. At this diameter it works beside a sofa or a bed and takes a tea tray, a lamp and a stack of books at once, rather than being an ornament with room for a cup. Made in Sillanwali, Sargodha, and carved individually, so grain, carving depth and colour tone vary between tables. Dust with a soft dry cloth and use a dry brush to reach into the carving; avoid water, chemical cleaners and polish sprays, and keep it out of direct sunlight and standing heat. A name or a date can be carved into the rim on request.

Every piece is made by hand, so the wood grain, carving and colour vary a little from the photo. That variation is normal and is what makes each one its own.
