Carved & Inlaid Nesting Table Set (4 Pieces) — four tables with carved tops and white inlay. Made by hand from sheesham (rosewood) and carved by hand, in the Sillanwali Handicrafts workshop in Sillanwali, Sargodha, Punjab, Pakistan. It costs PKR 15,500. It is ready to ship and delivered within 3 to 4 days anywhere in Pakistan, paid in cash on delivery.

Four stacking tables carved across the top and set with a fine white inlay running down the centre of each. The heaviest of the nesting sets the workshop makes. The inlay is cut in, not painted on. A channel is chased into the surface of the finished top and the white material is laid into it and levelled back until it sits flush with the sheesham, so you can run a hand across the table and feel nothing. Against dark rosewood the white line reads sharply, and because the channel is cut freehand the line has the slight waver of a drawn stroke rather than the dead straightness of a printed stripe. The carving is worked around it on either side. Solid sheesham throughout with shaped aprons and turned legs, which is why this set is noticeably heavier in the hand than the lacquered ones — a point worth knowing if the tables will be moved often. Made in Sillanwali, Sargodha, and carved and inlaid individually, so no two sets match. Dust with a soft dry cloth and a dry brush into the carving; keep water, polish sprays and chemical cleaners off the wood. A name or a date can be carved into the largest top on request.

Every piece is made by hand, so the wood grain, carving and colour vary a little from the photo. That variation is normal and is what makes each one its own.
