Carved Wall Clock — sunburst clock with carved rays. Made by hand from sheesham (rosewood) and glass and carved by hand, in the Sillanwali Handicrafts workshop in Sillanwali, Sargodha, Punjab, Pakistan. It measures 24 in across. It costs PKR 4,500. It is ready to ship and delivered within 3 to 4 days anywhere in Pakistan, paid in cash on delivery.

A twenty-four inch wall clock ringed with carved wooden rays, so it reads as a piece of wall art with a dial in it rather than as a clock with decoration around the edge. Each ray is cut and shaped individually in solid sheesham and set around the centre, which is why the sunburst is not perfectly symmetrical and why the shadows it throws change as the light moves across the wall through the day. The dial sits behind glass at the centre. It runs on a single AA battery and hangs from one hook, so it needs no fixing beyond a nail. At this diameter it is meant for a wall that has nothing else on it — above a sideboard, over a sofa, or facing the door of an entrance hall. It fills the space a framed picture would. Made in Sillanwali, Sargodha, and carved individually, so no two sunbursts sit exactly alike. Dust with a soft dry cloth and a dry brush between the rays; keep water, polish sprays and chemical cleaners off the wood, and keep it out of direct sunlight so the sheesham does not fade. A name or a date can be engraved on the face, which is why these are often given for a wedding or a new house.

Every piece is made by hand, so the wood grain, carving and colour vary a little from the photo. That variation is normal and is what makes each one its own.
